Where London's adventurers gather
AlphaDungeonBase is a solar-powered gaming lounge on New Compton Street. Roll for initiative under living-green walls, borrow from a 900-strong game library, and refuel with stone-baked pizza between quests.
A greener kind of dungeon

Built on daylight, not fluorescent gloom
When we opened the doors off Seven Dials in 2019, we wanted the opposite of a windowless basement. Skylights, a rooftop solar array, and a moss-lined atrium keep every table bright and quietly powered by the sun — even on a grey London afternoon.

Gamemasters who actually teach the rules
Every shift has two roaming hosts who will set up a game, explain it in ten minutes, and check in without hovering. First time rolling a d20 or a lapsed player returning after a decade — you will never be left flipping through a rulebook alone.

A neighbourhood table for the West End
Between Covent Garden and Tottenham Court Road, we host weeknight campaigns, Saturday family sessions, and after-work board-game socials for the theatres, studios and offices around Holborn. Regulars leave their painted minis in our lockers.
The den in daylight
From the campaign nooks to the café counter — a peek at where the adventures happen.

“Booked a beginner D&D session for my partner’s birthday and our host made the whole table feel like heroes within minutes. We’ve been back three Fridays running.”
“The library is unreal — we tried four games we’d never heard of in one afternoon and the staff taught every single one. Best rainy-day plan in Covent Garden.”
“I run a monthly campaign here and the daylight and plants make three-hour sessions fly by. Coffee’s genuinely good too, which is rare for a game café.”
Frequently asked questions
Walk-ins are welcome for library tables whenever we have space, but weekends and campaign nights fill fast. We strongly recommend booking a table online or by phone for groups of four or more, especially Friday and Saturday evenings.

Library tables are £6 per person for the whole day. Guided RPG campaign seats start at £14 per player per session, and most events run from £10. There’s no minimum spend on food or drink.
Yes. Under-16s are welcome until 7pm and free on our Family Sundays, which feature light quests suitable for ages 7 and up. After 7pm the den becomes an adults-focused space for longer campaigns.
Our café offers vegan and gluten-free pizza bases and clearly labels allergens on the menu. Let a host know when you arrive and the kitchen will happily adapt most dishes for your table.
Absolutely. We hire out our Verdant Hall for birthdays, team socials and stag or hen gatherings, with a dedicated gamemaster and a set food package. Email us and we’ll build an evening around your group.
